Reihaneh Malekian
I am a PhD candidate in Statistics at Columbia University. My research is broadly in probability and mathematical statistics, with particular interests in large deviations, Gibbs measures, random graphs and hypergraphs, graph limits, and fluctuation theory.
I am especially interested in probabilistic methods for high-dimensional statistical models and in understanding the asymptotic behavior of interacting systems.
Research
My work lies at the intersection of probability, statistical mechanics, and mathematical statistics. Current themes include:
- large deviations and variational principles for Gibbs measures;
- random graphs, hypergraphs, graphons, and hypergraphons;
- Potts and Ising-type models and high-temperature fluctuations;
- asymptotic inference for dependent and high-dimensional models.
